Venue

The meeting will take place at the University of Cambridge, Cambridge UK. Most of the symposia will take place in and around the Downing Site, off Downing Street, which is located just west of the city centre. For a map of the area, showing accessibility options, click here

Travelling to Cambridge

Cambridge is situated approximately 60 miles directly north of London. The fastest way to reach Cambridge from London is by express train and the journey takes around 45 minutes.

Air
International visitors should fly into London. London StanstedURL is the closest airport to Cambridge (30 miles). Stansted and Cambridge are connected by regular train and bus services and the details are listed on the above Stansted web site.

Rail
A regular train service connects London and Cambridge and can take as little as 45 minutes by express train or on slower trains up to 1.5 hoursURL

Bus and Coach
Long-distance coaches, including those from the airports, come into Parkside where taxis are available. Local buses use Drummer Street Bus Station. For detailed information on bus timetables and bus companies visit the university bus information pageURL There is also a free City Centre shuttle service that runs every 15 minutes from 09:00 to 18:00 Monday – Saturday.

Car
The M11 connects London and Cambridge, and the journey by car takes approximately 1.5 hours. The RAC offers a route planning toolURL Park and Ride is also availableURL

Visas

Depending on the country you are visiting from and the length and main purpose of your visit, you may or may not need a visa to enter the UK. To find out if you require a visa, please click hereURL where you can input your trip details and find out for sure.

The Society is able to help by providing a letter to support your application for a visa if deemed necessary by your government. In the first instance we will prepare and email you a PDF copy of the letter. If required we will post it to you. Please contact Heidi AdnumURL with all relevant details.
